Issuing a Quote

Prices, totals and standard text are continuously updated as item prices are changed, or modifications made to text. Your quotation will always reflect the latest values. When the quotation is completed and ready for issue it may be desirable to "fix" the prices and totals. This can be done by setting the Fix Values flag. Similarly, it may be necessary to fix text, thus preventing future changes to standard text affecting the quotation once it is issued.

Status, Fix Value and Fix Text may be set at any time, but these can also be set automatically when the quote is issued. As the quote is "issued" the Issue Date is set to the current date, the Status to a pre-defined value and either or both of the fix flags are optionally set. Which of these are in fact used and what values are fixed can be determined globally or on a per-quote basis.

In multi-user systems or single user systems employing user groups the issue of a quotation may cause the quote's owner group to change. This feature could be used to automatically make the quote available to another department.
