Technical Requirements

MQuote ships with the Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) which provides the main database capability. This is fully compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0/2000 but is optimized for 'smaller' databases with up to 5 users and a maximum 2Gb database size. For larger systems we recommend the use of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0/2000 - the MSDE database can be easily attached to SQL Server with no loss of data or change in MQuote.

MQuote can run on a single PC, or can be run across a large network. It must be run on Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP Pro Workstation. The MSDE server can be run on any Windows system, including the system on which MQuote is running. For larger networks we recommend running MSDE or SQL Server on an NT or 2000/2003 Server.

As with most 'large' applications MQuote will run better with a faster processor and plenty of available memory. One of our test machines is a Pentium II 200MHz with 40MB of RAM running NT/2000 Workstation which is quite stable running MQuote and the MSDE server. Ideally we would recommend a more recent system with perhaps more memory for day-to-day operations.
