Totalling and sub-totalling routines form an integral part in the construction of a quotation. Totals may be summed over, for instance, item price or cost, labour price or cost, labour hours, item line total and sub-totals within a particular tender. MQuote's bid enhancement program offers comprehensive and flexible control over all totalling routines. |

Combinations of totals are supported, together with adjustments via absolute or percentage values, to enable implementation of discounts, gross margins, markups, additional charges, etc. VAT may also be included or excluded. This flexible totalling system achieves much more than the basic summing of item prices. A number of item columns may be summed and items grouped into sections with their own sub-totals. Items constituting a total may be specified, making it easy to produce sections with their own sub-total. Any number of sub-total levels can be included to group the sections of a quote and reflect the nature of the customer’s project. The total value can be referred to anywhere within the quote, facilitating either the production of summary pages showing sub-totals and final totals, or the inclusion of totals within a covering letter. Purchase options may be shown by the inclusion of totals that apply to different sub-sets of the items or sub-totals in a quotation. |
